Drawn Breath (Part I - Wrought Iron)

Can the human being advance beyond what it is presently? If so to what purpose? Is it likely to be hostile? Is insanity the acceptance of fantasy as reality or reality as fantasy? Can it truly be defined? Where is the line drawn between a psychopath and a functioning soldier and in war can we really discern?

Questions are the kernels of curiosity and in life we all have that uniting essence. The epic novel, Drawn Breath is the soil for these seedlings to take root and blossom. In so doing a new and vivid world is born, taking hold in the mind. So take a deep breath...and enter.

Book Description:
Hhaam is the world torn apart by war. Hhaam is the world of the Bladesmen and the warrior class. Hhaam is the world where only the ruthless and murderous survive. Within Hhaam you either cloak yourself in the garb of the soldier or fall to the ever present predators; those eternally seeking blood and power. Amo and Suun are two rustic, young boys in this haphazard realm, sons of a father who is an alleged legendary soldier and a mother with an impenetrable mystery. They set out on the path of the soldier and train in the esoteric ways of the Bladesmen; but as they develop, the border between their idyllic childhood and the nightmarish reality begins to dissolve. Will Amo and Suun have the strength to rise above, conquering their fears and deflecting the threat of insanity, and become top soldiers? Will they truly master the mind? Follow their journey in this tale of pain, power and perseverance that marks the beginning of the epic - Drawn Breath.

A Fleet in Being: The Austro-Hungarian Navy in WWI

Most people, even those with an interest in naval history or the first world war, know little about the Austro-Hungarian navy. It wasn't as large and powerful as the British Royal Navy or the Imperial German Navy, but the Kaiserliche und Königliche Kriegsmarine (Imperial and Royal War Fleet) is a fascinating subject. One of it's dreadnoughts (SMS Szent István) was built by a Hungarian shipyard, despite the yard having no experience of such large ships and Hungary having no coastline. It's sailors spoke all eleven of the official languages of the empire. The first aircraft to sink an enemy submarine were two Austro-Hungarian flying boats.

Description:
The Kaiserliche und Königliche Kriegsmarine -- The Austro-Hungarian Navy -- was in at the beginning of World War I when Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie lay in state abord its flagship, and at the end when it dissolved along with the empire that commanded it. During the war, this small but powerful "fleet in being" forced the Allies to maintain a blockade of the Otranto Straits. German and Austro-Hungarian u-boats ran riot elsewhere in the Mediterranean even though the capital ships almost never left port.

Illustrated with thirty photographs and drawings, this book provides a comprehensive and detailed listing of the ships that made up the KuK Kriegsmarine, its operations, and the unique problems this unusual fleet faced, from contentious duelling parliaments to ships built by landlocked Hungary.

Red Mountain

I remember when the novel came to me. I was swimming laps in a pool. I'd been sifting ideas for several days but nothing would gel. Recently seeing some old photo albums at my grandmother's house had left me feeling haunted. As I listened to the sounds of my body cutting through water, the idea arrived. My protagonist didn't even have a name yet. But I knew he was going to hate me for what I had in store for him.

Stephen King and Dean Koontz fans will find much to like in Yates' debut thriller about a man searching to find his wife and son.

Robert Crain's life has just been shattered. While recuperating at home from a car accident, men in ski masks break into his house and render him unconscious. When he awakens he is confronted by nightmarish truth -- that the men have taken his wife and son with them. These aren't ordinary kidnappers. They aren't demanding Robert to come up with ransom money. No, what they're asking him to do is unthinkable.

As he descends into the darkest journey of his life, Robert must revisit a violent period he'd put behind him, a place he'd hoped to never return to again. But if he wants to see his family alive he will have no choice but to play the kidnapper's bloody game… A game whose grand purpose he does not understand.

Robert has always had questions about his family. About a ghost who once stalked him in the forest when he was a boy and a mysterious oblong box he'd found in his grandmother's attic. For years he's had the uneasy feeling that some force from the distant past would one day rise up and call to him…

Joined by his best friend Will, Robert will stop at nothing to find his wife and son. After uncovering where they are being held, the men drive to a remote desert farmhouse to rescue them from the hands of a psychopath.

Heart-pounding and unpredictable, RED MOUNTAIN takes the reader on a suspenseful adventure like no other.

Book Affairs of The Heart

"Affairs of The Heart" - if you have not trust in love, or lost yours, you will find it again and even something more, because in one and only human's life we cannot have all of kinds of love but in books we could find them and take some sense of too different stories. Reading or writing, I try to put myself in the shoes of the heroes using all power of my imagination to take a sense of their emotions and feelings. Sometimes problems, important questions of the heroes are the same as our own. However, answers are different. What is love? Escape from loneliness? Or love is a deep friendship and having it for something else is just our ilusion? What would love inspire? A new sense of life? Happiness? Or Love would kill our innocence? Does being in love mean we discover mutuality but losing part of your identity? Questions, puzzles and some answers in two love-stories, two affairs of the hearts.

Sometimes I imagine that I am twenty years older, in 2031 example, I have a time, and decide to start writing the same story again. I am sure, my messages to the readers, my choice of words; my story-telling manner will be very different from now. Perhaps it would sound more mature and peaceful but in the novels I write nowadays lives all passion I have for history, mysteries, and adventures, time-traveling and great love.

In "The Last Secrets of The Ancient Island" series of mishaps in an old town casts suspicion on a number of residents, provoking changes in an adopted practice of the underground world of relics. Ralph, a young graduate of a university proves the last mysteries of ancient National Park sites are yet unexplored by historians and archaeologists and discovers the personal secret of his older brother Michael. An unknown driver has a tragic motivation to take his life and that of another.

We were born alone, we die alone, but life is our chance to live in love. If we don't lose the chance, if know why love is the most desired legend in our life.

In "A Love In Time of War"  first they faced the war… the love followed later. Peace was somewhere in between. One day he could have killed her on the other side of the front, on the next day he fell in love and what would happen in the day after it? All efforts to remain enemies appeared to be in vain. The borderline between their ability to hate or to love appeared a thin one. Differences abound in cultures, religions, languages, traditions and so on but a young Bulgarian girl and a Turkish officer met many more obstacles to overcome. Kidnapping her or escaping together provoking political scandal between the warring countries? His life had become like a Byron's passionate poem and he entered in it madly and bravely. The war became past, the past became history and through the years only love is still alive in a very beautiful tale to remember.

The book is available both in paperback and Kindle format.

A Good Nanny

I am Barbara House and I write short stories that are light horror
with a bit of humor. In "A Good Nanny," miserable Maude Barrow lies
and lands a nanny's job, matches wits with Hobart, the butler, and
finds the job has one unforgettable perk. Nasty children and an
uptight family add to the dark depiction of this definitely enjoyable
tale.

Open Minds

The very first image—the first brain spark—that inspired Open Minds (Book One of the Mindjack Trilogy) was filled with the effects of intolerance. The idea of a world where everyone read minds, except one girl, sprung up as a setting: the girl, sitting in a high school classroom, surrounded by her mindreading classmates, but as isolated as one human being could be from another. She didn’t speak their mind-language, but it was more than simply being a deaf-person in a hearing world. She was mistrusted, shunned, because they couldn’t understand her. They feared her, because she was the definitive other in their world.

I hope you will try Open Minds and discover how when everyone reads minds, a secret is a dangerous thing to keep.

—Susan Kaye Quinn, Author

Sixteen-year-old Kira Moore is a zero, someone who can't read thoughts or be read by others. Zeros are outcasts who can't be trusted, leaving her no chance with Raf, a regular mindreader and the best friend she secretly loves. When she accidentally controls Raf's mind and nearly kills him, Kira tries to hide her frightening new ability from her family and an increasingly suspicious Raf. But lies tangle around her, and she's dragged deep into a hidden world of mindjackers, where being forced to mind control everyone she loves is just the beginning of the deadly choices before her.

"Wow—just when I was getting a little bored of YA a book like this comes along and just wows me back! ... I was holding my breath right up until the last page."—Mel's Random Reviews

"Wow oh Wow! I just inhaled this book. Quinn is an amazing author with an even more amazing imagination. In some ways Kira reminds me a lot of Katniss from the Hunger Games series."—TwiMom101 Book Blog

Wrath - the life and assassination of a United States Governor

Five U.S. presidents have been assassinated. Only one governor has: William Goebel of Kentucky. This is his bloody story.

As a state senator William Goebel killed a man in broad daylight standing next to the Attorney General. Five short years later - through legislative tricks, an election con and plain old meanness - he put himself into the governor's chair. He held the office for three days before a bullet ripped into his chest.

In Wrath - the life and assassination of a United States Governor, I write about how a man could become so hated from his boyhood to his deathbed. Wrath also tells the story of the man who pulled the trigger.

Howard McEwen is a writer living in Bellevue, Kentucky.

Amazon review:

Two specific moments in Wrath: a novel of Kentucky were utterly breathtaking. The rest were merely intriguing and masterfully constructed--a narrative authentically written and irresistibly imagined by an author who appreciates the importance of culture in history. McEwen knows the lay of a political arena like he knows the bluegrass and hills of Kentucky.

His two main characters, William Goebel and The Mountain Man, are artfully developed with touching depth and consistency. Supporting characters are colorful and unique, offering multiple perceptions and contributions to the storyline. I found myself wanting to learn more the more I read--more about these historical people, more about the Civil War, more about the American monetary system, more about the Appalachian culture of Kentucky. McEwen delves into it all with a robustly woven narrative. The ludicrous power ruthlessly sought by Goebel is accentuated all the more by McEwen's subtle tone and matter-of-fact progression from one event to the next.

Wrath is indeed a story that begs to be told. Parts of it are quaint nods to an era long gone; others offer savvy insight into the power dynamics and philosophies whose legacies have clearly influenced, if not dictated, the present-day political climate of the Midwest. I wholeheartedly recommend this novel, only if you don't mind being kept up by a story you can't put down, or haunted by a character you loathe, but perhaps surrender to root for in the end.

Lost in the Bayou

Kansas City native Cornell DeVille is attracting readers' attention with the release of his new Young Adult thriller, Lost in the Bayou. The funny thing is, it's receiving rave reviews from an older generation. One reader has gone so far as to compare this novel to the work of Stephen King. It may be because, like King, DeVille comes from the Baby Boomer generation, and he typically weaves some of that nostalgic era into his books. Another reason for the comparison is obvious. Deville know how to write a scary book. He has mastered the skill of keeping readers on the edge of their seats and turning the pages .

Consider the following situation:

The Kennedys are in the White House. General Motors has released their new Sting Ray. Wolfman Jack is spinning the disks and filling the summer nights with the songs teens love. And Robin Sherwood is listening to her favorites on her new Zenith Royal transistor radio. Except for the noisy locusts droning in the trees, life at Sherwood Estate couldn't be better. But Robin's perfect summer spins into a graveyard spiral when her parents' plane mysteriously disappears over the Voodoo Swamp.

Suddenly, life isn't so great. And it's about to become a lot worse, because her Uncle Conrad has just arrived—with a silver claw where his left hand used to be. And if that wasn't bad enough, Conrad has a strange obsession with the Lone Ranger. The fact that he knows every episode by number? Well, that's just weird. But weird changes to crazy when he explains the bizarre game he has planned for Robin and her younger brother, Andy. Robin doesn't want any part of his game, but she doesn't want her toes snipped off either, which is the only other option she's given.

It's risky, but even becoming alligator bait in the bayou seems a lot less terrifying right now that having to face what's waiting for her in the cellar.

Cage Life

This intriguing ebook of two short stories focuses on two protagonists who both yearn for a different life and long to escape a cage of their own creation. Written by Karin Cox in a literary style, both stories have twist endings will leave you guessing right up to the end.

What happens when life doesn't turn out as planned? This collection of two evocative stories (each with a surprising twist) explores the choices and compromises we make in life and in love, and how they can trap or liberate us, depending on our mindset. Each story comes with an unexpected twist that makes reading all the way to the end imperative.

In "Cage Life," first published by [untitled] in 2010 as "Still Life", a young mom feels like a prisoner in her own home. Her decision to escape the bonds of marriage and motherhood, just for a few hours, has unexpected consequences that force her to a re-evaluate what it really means to be loved, to be married, and to be free.

In "The Usurper," unconditional love is explored within the boundaries of age and longing. Basil is in his eighties, with an illustrious career in law enforcement behind him, when he meets Carla — a beautiful, energetic and much younger mistress. But when Simon appears on the scene, can Basil keep her or does she, in fact, keep him?

The Hawk and His Boy

Jute was an ordinary street thief, a pickpocket, a climber. He knew
how to do the jobs he was given and keep his mouth shut. One day,
however, he stole the wrong thing from the wrong person. Before he
knew it, legends were coming alive around him. Talking hawks, wizards,
walking nightmares with a taste for his blood. It's everything he can
do to stay alive, particularly when all the powers of darkness want
him dead.

With an ancient hawk for a mentor and a wizard teaching him about the
past, maybe Jute can evade death long enough to figure out that some
legends aren't over yet. And that maybe he's become part of the
greatest legend of all.

The Hawk and His Boy is the first book of the Tormay Trilogy. The
story continues with The Shadow at the Gate and concludes with The
Wicked Day. Available on Amazon for Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Hawk-His-Tormay-Trilogy-ebook/dp/B004DCB5SC/

Through the Portal

Through the Portal is the beginning of a fantastical trilogy, that I have absolutely loved to write. Jem and Oliver depart from their own world of Earth to the magical world of Callisto, where they encounter not only encounter a strange bear-like creature called a roxnoar, but also a legendary beast, the Red Dragon. In their adventure across this strange new world, our heroes come across all sorts of bizarre creatures and incredible forms of magic. That was my favorite part of designing this book: creating the creatures and inventing new uses for magic, like sylph, which is a physical manifestation of magic that is a semi-liquid meant to perform whatever task the user needs with minimal energy exertion. Don't expect regular magic or regular animals!

What's the worst part of falling through a portal to another world and not being able to get back? When the first person you meet almost gets you killed by a ferocious, fire-breathing dragon. Together, the three of them set off on a quest to defeat the evil Veroci Regime that is stealing all the magic from the world, but can they do it before the Dragon catches up with them?

The Ranch Next Door and Other Stories

A collection of Western short stories that go beyond the standard action and adventure of the genre to focus on character and conflict. In the award-winning "Disturbing the Peace," a sheriff experiences a revelation about himself and his relationship with the people of his town, while in "The Outlaw's Wife," a doctor worries that his young friend is falling for a married woman whose husband is rumored to be a wanted criminal. From the suspenseful "Cross My Heart" to the comedic romp of "A Rangeland Renaissance," to a Western twist on star-crossed romance in "The Ranch Next Door," these stories should appeal to a variety of readers, as well as established fans of the traditional Western.

"Wonderfully told short stories that will hold your attention until the last word...Foley injects a breath of fresh air into the Western genre. These stories are ripe with themes and morals that will stick with you after you've read them." - Matthew Pizzolato, The Western Online

All I Needed to Know I Learned from Columbo

My name is Adam Graham and I'm a huge fan of great detective fiction. Whether it's Philip Marlowe, Nero Wolfe,  Sherlock Holmes, or some obscure character most people haven't heard of, I'm a big fan of detectives

In the course of their careers, I've noticed that these detectives often impart some very valuable life lessons. My book All I Needed to Know I Learned from Columbo examines life lessons from seven great detectives, as well as a history of each detective.

I don't claim that the lessons contained in the book are somehow original. Most could be found in the Bible as well as dozens of other philisophical and religious books written over the centuries.  However, what I endeavor to do with All I Needed to Know I Learned from Columbo is to take a look at these lessons in a fresh way through the lives and work of great detectives. The detectives featured are Sherlock Holmes, Nero Wolfe, Father Brown, Boston Blackie, Dan Holiday, Columbo, and Adrian Monk. The lessons vary from time management to dealing with anger and finding courage.

I hope readers will enjoy reading about their favorite detectives and pick up an important life lesson or two along the way.

No More than Human

Transhumans, cyborgs... cybermen even; science fiction often speaks of futures where humanity surpasses its biological limitations to spread throughout the galaxy. I wanted to write a story that wondered what happened to the people left behind, those who couldn't or wouldn't upgrade their bodies. What is the fate for those No More than Human?

No More than Human tells the tale of the first colonization mission to an extra-Solar planet. Whether natural humans will be permitted to join the mission is a decision yet to be made. Everything is still to be played for, but those that will make the decision are no longer themselves human...

This is a short science fiction story for adults only. In paperback this would be about 26 pages.

Grey

"Grey" is the first in a series of paranormal fantasy novels titled the Balance series. As the author, Nick Shamhart, I wanted to present a story that would add a level of realism to fantasy. Many people will say they do not like that type of book, or they only read a certain genre. Anyone can read and enjoy a well written story, as long as it has identifiable characters, flowing dialogue, and an interesting plot. I am told "Grey" has all those and I firmly believe that it does. Because the story takes place after death, we will all face the same choices as the heroes of this tale at some point, and there are  no preexisting conditions - like being a wizard, mutant, alien, or super natural critter- needed to identify with the hero Grey.

"Grey" is a paranormal urban fantasy novel with horror overtones dealing with the unseen world of balancing powers. Too often life is viewed in terms of good and evil, black or white, and the balance point tipping in either direction is ignored. Why should the afterlife be any different? We are given a choice when we die to move on to the Source of life, stay on earth and slowly evolve into more of what we were (good people become angelic and bad people become demonic), or a chosen few can work to keep the Balance between them. Grey is such a warrior who works to maintain that balance. He wishes to retire by moving onto the next phase of existence (the Source), so he needs to train a replacement. Grey recruits Pete to learn how to destroy demons and when necessary smack angels around to keep them in line. With help from an eclectic crew of other metaphysical "policemen and women, like the no nonsense Raven," Grey and Pete stop the biblical demon Legion from destroying a small town in Illinois, setting off a chain reaction that could upset the Balance in this supernatural buddy cop comedy.

Introduction: Child of War-A God is Born is Book #1 in the OF WAR series of erotic/romantic paranormal thrillers centering around Ares God of War and Magdalena MacLeod. With Ares and Alena trying to settle into life on Olympus and await the birth of their son, Raven, all should be happy and content. Dark prophecies surround the boy as he and his half-breed mother are outwardly despised by Zeus and some of the other Olympians.

Book blurb:

Do you know 'Damien'? Raven makes that kid look like an angel.

The "Of War"-series picks up in part I of this II-part sequel when Ares and Alena try to settle down on Olympus and await the birth of their son, Raven.

Haunted by prophetic visions along with a body and mind that are starting to betray her, Alena struggles to enjoy what should be a happy and blessed occasion. The relentless hostility from the other Olympians make her yearn to be back on their cozy island home, far away from all the bickering and backstabbing that makes up Life on mighty Mount Olympus.

Knowing of Zeus' unabashed hatred for Alena and the Celts, Ares becomes convinced Zeus is causing these visions and the breakdown of Alena's mind. To appease his Father, the God of Gods, Ares enters into a wicked blood pact ensuring the safety of his wife and unborn son. A pact that could cost the God of War everything he holds dear.

However, once the boy arrives, it quickly becomes clear Raven may be the most powerful and cunning Olympian ever born. Outwardly despised by Zeus for his Fey blood and his filthy Celtic mother the seeds of rage and doubt are planted in the Raven's mind by a very willing Apollo.

As Zeus, Apollo, and Aphrodite plot against the new family, bit by bit the true pasts of the Olympians and Celts comes to light, the battle begins for Ravens' mind and soul and for the ultimate control of Olympus.

Child of War-A God is Born and the OF WAR Series contain scenes of graphic sex and violence. As such, this novel is intended for ADULTS ONLY it is NOT recommended for the Faint of Heart.

1st Review:
5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Must-Read!!, October 16, 2011
This review is from: Child of War: A God is Born (Volume 1) (Paperback)
Child of War is a jaw-dropping series that left me peeling my mouth from the floor as the story took me on an ultimate thrill ride of unrelinquished, blood-boiling romance, revenge, lust, lies and betrayal. Hang on to your seats everyone, this book is going to take you on a very bumpy ride.

Have you ever read a book where you could not see what is coming? Multiple twists and turns that left your head spinning, your heart pounding, and your temperature rising? Me neither, until I read Child of War. Everything that you thought you knew from the first book, The Heart of War, is thrown out the window as lies come to light, love is tested, and trust is put on trial.Nothing is as it seems on Olympus.

Alena is about to give birth to her son with The God of War Ares. Problem is, everyone on Olympus is out for themselves and one thing most of the gods agree upon is that Alena, a Celtic Fae, is not welcome. Her main goal is to keep her son safe, but who will keep her safe? With mostly everyone against Alena and her half-breed baby, Ares makes a blood vow with his father Zeus to keep his family safe, instead it threatens to take the family he loves so much away. How can he fix his marriage before it all comes crumbling down?

Raven is the son of every mother's nightmare. Being a God, he inherits all of the memories of his father and his mother. Knowing that he is shunned by Zeus because of his half-breed status , he blames his mother and plots against her and all who stands in her way. With a vow to gain his rightful place on the throne, he decides to take down all threats to his plan, including his family.

What do you do when the people you love betray you, and the people you want to protect are the ones out for your blood? Who will survive the War of the Gods?

This book is an amazing ride with a shocking ending that will have you sending groveling emails to Lisa to write faster...ok, maybe that's just me. I haven't read such a shocking book filled with love, danger, and non-stop action.in a long time. What an amazing unputdownable journey this was!

Please let me know if you want/need anything further from me.

Thank you very much.

All the best,
Lisa

Introduction: The Heart of War is Book #1 in the OF WAR series of erotic/romantic paranormal thrillers centering around Ares God of War and Magdalena MacLeod a half-fey half-human woman who washes up on his island with no real recollection of how she got there.  Come along for a steamy adventure of love, lust, rage, and redemption.

Book blurb:
Inside the Heart of every Warrior breathes the Soul of a Hero--even within The Heart of War.

Meet Ares God of War, the greatest Warrior the world has ever known. He's moody, grumpy, dominant, ravenously sexual, and above all, built like a Greek God.

Suspected of killing his Daughter in-Law, Psyche, and long in exile from Olympus, the solitude of Ares' secluded Greek Isle is interrupted when Magdalena MacLeod a plucky little Fey washes up on his shore after believing she's been shipwrecked. It's not mere fate that has brought the unlikely couple together yet it may be what tears them apart.

Branded with a golden chastity belt bearing the mark of Cernunnos, Celtic God of the Forest and Death, Alena has been on the run from her husband the Great Horned God for 200 years.

When the Olympians discover her presence on Ares' island, they send Apollo to the island while Ares is away with orders to bring her to Olympus. With nowhere to run and strikes a bargain with the God of War--her virginity for his protection.

Ares sees a sweeter deal; her in his bed and himself back in his rightful place on Olympus among the Gods. If it means turning Alena over to Zeus afterward, well that's of no consequence to him...is it?

After Alena proves herself to the God of War in battle and in his bed, Ares must choose between his Divinely Dysfunctional Family, his pride, and Alena.

Get lost in this sweeping dark saga of lust, rage, revenge, and redemption. Battle Ancient Gods while falling in love with Ares God of War and Alena MacLeod. They share a love that will rock the world from the heights of Olympus to the Celtic moors.

1st Review: *4.5 stars*
Wow, there is so much to this book, so much to share. The main characters in this book are a half-human, half-fay woman named Magdalena (also called Maggie or Alena). Alena has been on the run almost her entire life, hiding from her would-be husband Cernunnos, an ancient Celt God who wants to use Magdalena for nefarious purposes. The other main character to this captivating novel is my favorite, Ares, ancient Greek God of War. Ares has been exiled from Olympus to an island somewhere near Greece. One day, Ares finds Magdalena washed up on shore and is instantly curious and captivated by this strange woman. As the story develops, Magdalena's past is slowly uncovered, and it is violent and dangerous. As Ares learns more about Magdalena, he also becomes softened to her. There is a compelling heat between them, and they find themselves falling for each other. Before Magdalena and Ares can have a relationship, truth must be uncovered, and the psychopathic evil God stopped.
This story is full of mythology, I loved it. The Gods of olympus are engaging, the back stories told are all developed. The eroticism is heavy, and quite intriguing. This book is so much more than a simple love story or erotica or fantasy novel, there are sub-plots and back stories. The story is told from several viewpoints, from Magdalena, Ares, Cernunnos, even Eros has a viewpoint in there. All of this is done is a way that the story is only enhanced. It is so wonderfully developed, when I finished reading, I was quite satisfied. The entire story was told. I will admit, at times I was frustrated with Magdalena, she was constantly questioning and doubting Ares. Ares, despite being the God of War, was quite ironically the underdog for much of the story. He was hated by most everyone, except for his mother and a few of his women.
WARNING: I do have to issue a warning, there is a lot of violence in this book. There is rape, and beating, and what I would call torture. It is all part of the story, but it was a bit tough to read at parts.
With all this said, the book was excellent. Everything was there and very well written. The emotions went from deep lows at times, to great highs. There was intrigue, danger, betrayal, and great romance. On that note, I will end my review with this, my favorite quote from the book:
"And still I am alone except when I'm with you. Then I am whole, no longer restless, and no longer weary."

Please let me know if you want/need anything further from me.  I will be immediately sending you another email for "Child of War-A God is Born" Book #2 in the OF WAR Series.

Thank you very much.

All the best,
Lisa
