The protagonists in Night of the Purple Moon are thirteen years old. This arguably positions the 190-page novel as straddling the Middle Grade / Young Adult line. However, I am aware of only one person under the age of twenty who has read the book. She is twelve years old and she reported loving it. She also said that she "cried two pounds of tears".
