Tattered (Misfit McCabe)

When I sat down to write Tattered, I thought I had all the pieces. After all, it is the third book in a series. I knew the characters, I knew where I was picking up the action, I knew where I wanted to go with it. Oh, delusional author. The first indication everything would not go as smoothly as I thought was a character who popped up and kept throwing me one-liners, but refused to reveal herself, her name, or tell me how she fit into the plot. How could a character who came through almost as strong as my main character, Katie McCabe, keep so much hidden? Through perseverance, and I'll admit to some hair-pulling moments, Sunny Li finally stepped forward and delivered some of the most poignant moments of Tattered. Moments with Katie and Sunny are among my favorites for this book.

About the book:
What do Sunday afternoon court proceedings, cheerleader tryouts, and a book burning have in common? Katie McCabe is back in action.

After her nemesis Harvey is found guilty and sentenced to community service, Katie wants to believe her troubles are over, but Harvey won't rest until he gets revenge. When blackmail rears its ugly head, she's caught between friends and enemies putting her growing relationship with Tom at stake. Books go up in flames and Katie's world rains down in tatters.
