Detective Hank Larson a veteran of the James Creek Police Department is stuck on the late shift trying to finalize his workload of cold case files before the year ends. While going through his files, he receives a mysterious phone call from a woman claiming to be in danger. Larson ultimately discovers that the person on the other line is a reported missing person from one of his files. After she tells him her story, he embarks on a solo mission to find her in the dead cold. But all isn't what it seems to be. This short story is filled with suspense and thought rattling descriptions that captures your attention in a movie-like manner, making you a part of the adventure alongside the main character.
