John J. Cannon has practiced law for twelve years and is finding himself in a position where he would like to try something new. He has been very successful and has not had the time to pay attention to his own happiness or to build any kind of relationships outside of work. The only benefit he has managed to accrue is in the form of $7,000,000 in assets. John decides he has the resources and desire to take a leave of absence from the firm. He visited Port Aransas on vacation and makes the decision to return to see how it would work being a charter captain in a small town. Port Aransas is the only city on Mustang Island which is a barrier island off the Texas coast in the Gulf of Mexico. He travels to the small Texas fishing town and buys a boat, unaware that his new purchase, renamed My GRL, had already been targeted by a terrorist group. John’s first inkling of a problem is when he wakes up in the hospital. He learns he was found unconscious next to the dead body of the attractive young woman who sold him the boat in the first place. John is now a prime suspect in the murder and if that is not enough of a challenge, he comes to learn he is the only one standing between the terrorists and the success of their mission.
