Although my literary effort was completed before the advent of Donald Trump. In many ways the protagonist is the anti-Trump as he makes a hilarious political romp through the past four decades of American history.

While Richard Youngblood is stuck on a precarious perch way up a tree in a rain forest on the big island of Hawaii, he decides to run for a seat in the U.S. Congress. He also quixotically commits himself to writing a truthful autobiography to be published before the election. Dick’s lifetime has been the subject of a plethora of publicity—some flattering and some not so flattering. Attention by the media is exacerbated because his grandfather is a U.S. Senator from California and his father is an enigmatic radical-turned-spy who seems to pop up throughout his life. Dick’s notoriety is also entwined with several women named Amanda— one has a murderous obsession with him, one Dick marries, and another is the love of Dick’s life. Can Dick juggle the many Amandas, his revolutionary father, his kooky friends, and his fascinating adventures, while still running a political race with integrity?
