The young 18 yr old bugler took watch on a sunny Sunday morning on the USS Raleigh. Little did Perry Duncan know that only a few minutes later that he would be blowing water out of his bugle. Drenched in water, he finally was able to blow' "General Quarters."
It was December 7, 1941 and chaos broke loose as every sailor scrambled to the guns and battle stations. "This is not a drill," was repeated over and over again.
