The Rainbow Day of My Life is a vibrant homage Uma Bhurtah is giving too her late female puppy Honeymoon, who tragically died by wildly being hit by a car driving too fast, just in front of her gate, on her husband's birthday party in March 2012.
Uma relates to all her readers Honeymoon's complete story since her husband Dhiraj bought her in the streets of Antananarivo in Madagascar with a tramp, on a sunny Sunday morning of September 2007. She gives all the details of Honeymoon's life since she arrived in the house they were renting in Antananarivo until the three of them left Madagascar definitely for their native country Mauritius, with Honeymoon being placed in quarantine section of Ministry of Agriculture. She also focuses on the whole family's feelings, some positive and some negative, regarding that little bundle of joy, mostly punctured with hatred and disgust since Uma gave birth to her first child in May 2011, as most of her husband's relatives feared Honeymoon would attack the baby by jealousy as she would be neglected.
But by relating Honeymoon's story, Uma especially focused on a special day she called the Rainbow Day of her life, on a Tuesday morning of March 2010 in Mauritius, when Honeymoon was suffering from an anomaly in one of her legs and then brought to a vet for emergency checkup and treatment.
That day was special to her as she had been living seven hectic but rich experiences of life within one single day, each of them having brought to her a strong life lesson. As those hectic experiences reached seven in quantity, she also named that day a Rainbow Day, like the seven colours of the Rainbow.
