Bertie's Book of Spooky Wonders, a middle grade fantasy adventure story by Ocelot Emerson

Bertie’s Book of Spooky Wonders is a fun and emotional story about a wildly spirited twelve-year old girl, Bertie Blount.

Forced to move from North Carolina to Pennsylvania for her mother’s upcoming marriage, Bertie does something tragic that changes her life forever.  She triggers an accident that puts her future step-brother into a coma.

The world as Bertie knew it is over. She's finished. Until she finds a pair of hoo-doo sunglasses that allow her to see a better version of herself, Better Bertie (or BB for short).  The only problem is Bertie and BB don’t get along.  After Bertie suffers a series of humiliating and crushing failures, stares down spirit wolves, and getting sent on a deadly mission by a vengeful ghost, she finally discovers the one way to save her young step-brother's life.  There's just one catch -- Bertie will first have to be clever, and brave, and daring enough to defeat an ax-murderer.
