Andy’s Story – Too much for a lifetime

Author reveals his many worldwide travel adventures and devastating effects of voodoo in ‘Andy’s Story’

SWANSEA, Wales 2013 at The Pilot Pub, Mumbles written on an iPhone – For 25 years, ‘Andy’ toured the world. His job took him from his home in Wales to countries all over the world, but it was his settling in the Caribbean that inspired him to write his story. Andy creates an autobiographical novel that combines world travel, the supernatural and life-threatening situations in ‘Andy's Story: Too Much for a Lifetime’ (published by FriesenPress).

Andy regularly manages to find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, but somehow – like a cat with nine lives – always makes it out alive. Andy’s Story takes you on a worldwide adventure filled with unexpected events, impossible and sometimes life threatening situations including romance, tragedy, shot at, ambushed, stabbed, voodoo, cholera, Venezuelan riots, oil site evacuations, attempted murder escape from a crazed Kazakh psychopath and the KGB. ‘My book describes each country one after the other, the people I met and the local customs I witnessed,’ says Andy. ‘I am the unlucky type who is often in the wrong place at the wrong time, which encouraged me to record events, often in letters sent back home before PC’s came along.’

Factual accounts including 60 photographs beginning in South Africa and carrying on to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Pakistan, Libya, France, Tunisia, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Kazakhstan, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, the Caribbean and Iraq and to name but a few.

Not all travels end in a safe return. While in Venezuela, Andy is the victim of a powerful Voodoo spell, and he returns to Wales to have the spell removed. When he decides to buy a base on a Caribbean island, Andy falls under another Voodoo spell with disastrous results. Andy’s thrilling Caribbean adventure rounds out the novel and brings it to a satisfying close.

‘It is an amazing story which takes readers on a worldwide tour and leads to a detailed account of events that are normally only read in fiction horror books,’ writes Andy. ‘It is a book that readers will not be able to close until they complete each chapter.’
