Zymogen: Men of Renown - kindle ebook by Robin Mark Walker

http://www.amazon.com/Zymogen-Renown-Robin-Mark-Walker-ebook/dp/B00K70RB96

A unique blend of alternative history, science fiction, and mythology with strong human depth.

Nephilim – unnatural creations that result from merges of genetic material between sacrificed humans and mysterious otherworldly visitors.  The most ancient people had more common names for them: gods, heroes, giants…

A young giantess is found unconscious in an ancient forest by Tool Age people who live in trees.  She is taken to their village and given the name Kotori by her adoptive mother.

Kotori quickly adapts to the way of life in the village, forming friendships and even romances.  But the strongest bond Kotori forms is with her mother, who acts of a voice of wisdom guiding her as she recovers from the nightmares of her unholy captors.

Though Kotori may not be human, she believes herself to be becoming one as she learns more about human relations an uncovers secrets about the pains and sorrows of her fellow villagers.

As these secrets are fully exposed, the village is threatened with violence from an all too familiar evil, and to protect her new home Kotori must embrace all of her inhumanity and transform herself into the secret that she fears most - the unearthly monster that she really is.

This novel is primarily about good-vs-evil, but pulls no punches as it shows how ugly evil truly is, while going to great pains to show the beauty of good.  A definite choice for anyone who wishes to think while reading.

Bait - kindle ebook by Kasi Blake

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CJ182E4

Reviews from reader at Amazon:  What a bittersweet treat of a read. Bait started off with a shiver and sucked me right in the moment the reaper appeared in the dead of night. The world building is wonderful and the development of the characters right up my alley. The writing is clean and a pleasure to follow.

Adventure! Teen-appropriate romance! Paranormal activity! Mystery! Drama! This book and series covers so much ground it is hard to tell you without ruining it. I highly recommend for YA and parents too.

Enjoyable. Plot kept me coming back to see what would happen next. Interesting, with a twist of humor. Easy to read.

Reviews from reader on Goodreads: Can I just say that K.C. Blake has done it again. She has pulled off another story that flowed flawless and had so many toss and turns that I could not just sit there and not scream and yell at my kindle. Lord I was like a crazy woman on crank because this story has it all from ghosts to reapers to vampires and OMG the biggest surprise was that the main female character is a relative of someone I love Van Helsing.

Bait is an excellent introduction to a new YA paranormal series. It has action, suspense, well developed characters, monsters that really do hide in closets, a possibly world-ending prophecy, and a little romance.

I was really impressed with this book. It has a lot of twists and turns that keep you guessing. Puts an unexpected twist to the Van Helsing stories. Bay-Lee and Nick make the perfect couple with their love, love, hate relationship. This was an intense book for me that I did not want to put down.

Summary:  Bait follows Bay-Lee Van Helsing as she joins her father at his school, an exclusive training ground for hunters.  Tragedy has led her here, and she's determined to slaughter the werewolf pack responsible for her mother's death.  She tries to stay focused on the task at hand.  Hard to do when a sexy hunter with jungle green eyes becomes her biggest obstacle.  He refuses to mentor her, but she needs him on her side.  For some reason, Nick Gallos hates her on sight and insists she ruined his life even though she's sure they've never met prior to this.  Can she change his mind about her?  Falling in love is the last thing on her mind... until she meets him.  Now what is she going to do?  Will she have to choose between him and revenge?

Bait is an action-packed paranormal read with romance, suspense, and a touch of humor.  You will find monsters you know like werewolves and ghosts.  But there are also some you may not be familiar with like reapers.  Then there is one entirely made up by the author, and it is called a border monster.   This is the first in a series, followed by Hunter.  Warrior will be released this July.

Dusk and Midnight Essays - kindle ebook by David Arc

http://www.amazon.com/Dusk-Midnight-Essays-Paranormal-Enthusiasts-ebook/dp/B00JGRJZCM

I’ve referred to this collection of essays and stories as a “quarry for ghost hunters and paranormal enthusiasts,” which also is the subtitle.  Because that’s what this collection is, an unusual resource for newer, deeper, fresher, and more sophisticated approaches to the “paranormal.”

There is enough of the mainstream, standard stuff to go around, but very, very little that is highly curious, unusual; sort of “paranormal” in its own right.  My wish is for the reader, whatever your background might be, to garner concrete, useful, applicable information pertaining to the so-called “paranormal” from the essays of this book.

The essays concern various extraordinary phenomena, entities, and methods; many of them are given with real-life personal, experiential examples.  The book does not have to be read cover to cover, the reader can jump in anywhere, use it as a convenient handbook, and if nothing else, enjoy the accounts of real-life personal experiences as bedtime or late-night entertainment past midnight and the witching hour.

Fireflies - kindle ebook by David Menon

'Fireflies is the second in the detective superintendent Jeff Barton series of crime stories set in Manchester, England. Beginning with the discovery of the mutilated body of a naked man behind one of Manchester's hotels, Jeff and his team unravel a complicated case involving men who are seemingly being targeted whilst out partying to celebrate a friend's upcoming wedding. Someone is luring them away and murdering them. So is this the work of a psychopath? Or are the answers much deeper than that? Jeff is unconvinced about the guilt of a suspect early on in the investigations even though all the evidence points to them and slowly it becomes obvious to him that a much more cunning and therefore more dangerous force is at work here.
This story goes to the heart of the long-term effects of bullying and how the scars not only run deep but inspire the victim to carry out their own style of revenge years later. It also brings him into confrontation with one of Manchester's most notorious gangsters with whom Jeff has 'history'. But is this crime boss really behind the killings or is Jeff only seeing what he wants to see? Why would someone target men in these situations? Why would they kill them in such a brutal way?
Jeff and his deputy detective sergeant Rebecca Stockton continue to dance around their feelings for each other as the body count increases. But what is the link between these killings and the murder of a bride in the wedding suite of the Manchester Hilton hotel? Jeff develops his own theory but if he's right then who could be helping the killer to carry out their crimes?'

The Butterfly Papers - kindle ebook by Pepper Carlson

...Natália knew the Universe would collaborate in her favor the elements usually did. But she would soon learn there was more to her than meets the eye when a series of ordinary events would produce extraordinary circumstances...

Trying to catch my breath wasn’t easy. It would take some time to acclimate. I loved to visit here but would never live here. The forbidden-city is where the lost came to stay missing. Even the weather was cruel if you got in its way. It was so humid you could almost touch it. It felt wet and sexy on my skin and the energy of the night dared me to take chances. The humidity made me thirsty with its whispers of sweet nothings in my ear. It reminded me of a rainforest I wasn’t positively sure I ever knew.  It teased me with the smell of rain and the musky scent of a stranger just beyond my reach.

With the scent came an immediate stirring in my body I didn’t recognize.  A vision flashed before my eyes of a panther so black it was blue with the shiniest coat and the greenest eyes. I stumbled and leaned into a mailbox to steady me. “What the heck was that?” I mumbled to myself shaking my head.  Thinking back to the last bar I was in I wondered if maybe someone put something in my drink. Looking around I made sure I wasn’t being followed.

Mantis Force Ramah - a kindle ebook by R. J. Amezcua

The story unravels years after the planet Ramah was devastated by
the murder of its children. Jazrene, the leader of the Marium Kahnet
sisterhood, and faces the prospect of the holy order’s extinction.

With a rogue faction of the sisterhood seeking revenge for the perpetrators of the infanticide, public opinion is dangerously against them. She orders the confinement of the rogue sisters and, by doing so, sets off a chain of events that will change the lives of the inhabitants of the five galaxies known as the Quintástraya.

As you read the story, you will find a vividly created a world that is as genuine as the planet that we live in. This is a world that is going through its First Age era from the Time of Kelkabara, during the union of eleven houses of Kelkemek led by
the House of Mantis. The first chapter of the book does not fail to arouse the reader’s attention. Reeling from infanticide, the planet Ramah is a compelling picture that leaves a scar in your hearts. What follows is fast paced action in an inter-galactic worlds as the mission to capture the rogue sisters of the Marium Kahnet goes underway. The characters in this fantasy novel are so well developed that it is an effort not to empathize with them. So when Victoria Maja, the leader of the mission, is faced with what seem to be a series of insurmountable situations, it becomes quite authentic.

Kill Daddy by Gerald Freeman

$0.99 promo of Kill Daddy from 28th May 2014 until 6th June 2014!

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FQQBV2O/

Kill Daddy is the story of one man’s desperate attempt to move on from a traumatic childhood. The past has haunted him his whole life and he realizes that he cannot even begin to live until he has left the memories behind and can focus on the present and the future, instead. His journey takes him to remote villages in Kenya and Uganda, where he spends 2 years living with the local people. Will the journey help him to find inner peace, or will his abusers win in the end?
I was inspired to write Kill Daddy after I returned from my roller coaster ride In Kenya and Uganda. Everyone was asking me-What is Africa like? I couldn't sum it up into an adequate enough reply. Then as I began writing about the journey I realized I was leaving out an important part of the story, which was- Why did I go there in the first place? Writing about myself and exposing myself to you all is honest but a little difficult. However, if I am to inspire and connect with people and find those who can identify with my journey, then I believe that writing is like art and must come from the heart.

Dancing Bear - kindle Ebook by Oren Sanderson

KDP Select Free day:June 8

I wrote the book as a lesson and result of the time I served as the consul of Israel in Boston. New England is among the most enjoyable service posts for an Israeli diplomat. Beautiful landscapes, great weather for those who come from deserts and tropical weather and don't mind three month a year covered with snow, and most pleasant- sometimes weird people.

The liberal open atmosphere attracts people from all over the world to special communities mainly in New Hampshire and Vermont that were in the Consulate territory. Dreamers, prophets, world fixers, and some lunatics. A number of them would visit the Consulate every now and then. Being the Israeli Consul, the official representative of the state and the President, takes a lot of sensitivity and sometimes wisdom from you. Not to offend anyone, but not to fall, you and your country, for false stories. I knew how to handle those visitors.

My most remarkable case was that young lady who entered the Consulate on false claim- asking to see me for special visa extension request- and then refused to leave. It was a few years after an Israeli diplomatic crate, on its way to Israel, was mistakenly opened in the airport of Rome in Italy, and a cuffed man was found inside. That young woman begged and insisted that she should be shipped to Israel in such diplomatic crate.

According to her story, she was a part of an Israeli student union In MIT- perhaps the most prestigious Ivy League university in our area. The student union was managed by two famous Israeli students, sons of well-known right wing families in Israel. Now, she said the union is blamed for spying in the U.S., and it's our duty to smuggle her out of the country. The procedure on such cases is clear and sharp- we are not allowed to deal with it. I however couldn't resist calling one of these students. He clearly said that not only she is not part of the union, but as a matter of fact, he never heard her name before.

The desperate woman, a little more relaxed, asked to get out to buy some cigarettes. She left the Consulate and never came back.

Years later, that MIT student leader became a senior minister in the Government. The next time I heard the young woman's name, was when her appointment as the head of that Minister's office was announced.
In my book I tried to understand what could have been the true story behind that incident, or perhaps behind few other stories of this nature that you may have heard.

On that frightful day, they are forged into men who meet their fate with courage, honor, and dedication. The survivors, are forever changed, and later events fracture their friendships, their loves, and their lives.

"Savannah" - Kindle e-book by Perry Martin

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JYUJ094

Something happened to MICHAEL EASTON when he was a child.

Something so terrifying it became a recurring nightmare.  A nightmare that holds within it the seeds of his own destruction.  A nightmare he thought he’d left far behind him.  But it was waiting.  Buried deep in his subconscious.   Waiting to emerge when the time was right, and compel him to destroy everything he cares about.

For me, this story is part Stephen King and part Nicholas Sparks - -  if I may be so bold as to put myself in the same category as authors of that caliber.   The nightmare aspect of it was partly inspired by my own experience as a child when, for a brief time, I suffered from a recurring nightmare.  It disappeared for quite a while but then, for no apparent reason, came back to haunt me when I was in my mid-twenties.  Eventually it disappeared again, but the lingering after-effects would revisit me every so often.

Like the central character, Michael Easton, I am a musician and, like him, I have experienced both the ups and downs of a musician's life.   I turned to writing a few years ago (although I still play music) and when it came time to write a follow up to my first novel, "Pretty Flamingo" I was unexpectedly reminded of my childhood nightmare.  The idea of writing about a character who is subconsciously haunted by a terrifying incident from his childhood - - an incident he's completely blocked from conscious memory - -  was too hard to resist.

Here, perhaps, was a chance to put my own recurring nightmare to rest.

For good.

Family Tree The Novel: Family Tree by Andrea N. Carr

Local Author Revitalizes The American Literature Greats

She went to jail and found freedom.

Los Angeles, CA—Andrea N. Carr is a born storyteller. Her soul carries the passions and disappointments of a nation and her writing bares faultless witness to the truths of our time. Her debut release Family Tree The Novel is a gripping ride into the heart of the average dysfunctional family. Her profound insights into the human condition echo Alice Munroe’s The Color Purple and J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye.

“It’s about self exploration and family relationships, the drama which often exists in large families." Author Andrea Carr admits that she did not intend to be profound or lofty in her writing, she had a story to tell and she told it from a very real place.

“I want to give writers, and people everywhere, some hope they can see – make myself an example of faith. I took a big leap, leaving everything behind to go to Spain and focus on getting my story out, gut instinct acting as a guide.” Without a doubt Miss Carr is the newest writing sensation in the literary world. "This is my time, because I can feel that energy coming from my writing every time I read it."

Family Tree The Novel is the story of Angel Harper, a woman who went to jail and found freedom. This gritty and realistic portrayal of a mixed-racial family deals with death amidst the lies and half-truths of life bringing with it the heartbreak of self-realization and Angel’s understanding of what it is to be me. Miss Carr is currently writing a second novel in the Harper Family series. It is her goal to tour and share the true life inspiration behind this story.

“Here wings the threshold of a naked self; a home place of a black urban familial woman’s soul dancing its will to be and become.” – Forrest Young, PhD Anthropology

“Miss Carr’s ability to capture how the mind truly works and divines connections is more than a little startling. Family Tree The Novel is a must read for anyone.” – M.J. Moores, OCT. Infinite Pathways Press

“MISS ANDREA N. CARR, DESERVES A STANDING OVATION, APPLAUD!" – HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY MAGAZINE

Wisdom and Rubies - kindle book by J F Slattery

"Wisdom is better than rubies", the dry and repressive Reverend Septimus Wood tells his students in the wet and foggy London of 1829. But who at the age of nineteen will believe him? Certainly not Lord Horatio Carlton and his friend Arthur Marshall, two boys full of jokes and fun. But things take a more serious turn when they find themselves in prison on a charge of burglary. How on earth did they get there? Yet their brief stay in Clerkenwell Gaol is only the first in a series of strangely interlinked events which will change their lives. Did Arthur ever think he would meet Frank Hoskins, "fence", police agent and charmer, and that they would become friends? Did Horatio ever dream he would one day have a man's life in his hands, a man to be charged with murder?  Can Arthur ever tell what he knows about a sensational burglary and – worst of all – can he save a friend from the gallows? As they venture through the world of nineteenth-century London, seven years before the Victorian Age is to begin – a world of journalists and politicians, scholars and artists, prize-fighters and gamblers, burglars and confidence tricksters and pickpockets – the pressures increase, and they begin to wonder:  can it be, after all, that wisdom is better than rubies? Their earlier laughter has vanished as they see themselves confronted with a devastating tragedy. Can they avert it?

The story is told many years later by eminent criminal barrister Adolphus Winterbourne, who is writing his memoirs….

An engaging fictional account of a vital period in English social history, Wisdom and Rubies is closely based on newspaper reports of real criminal cases published in 1829-30. J. F. Slattery cleverly combines fact with fiction to provide an appealing read to both historical fiction fans and crime enthusiasts. The narrative offers a wide panorama of English society at the period, and is both witty and moving.

Flora's Story - a kindle ebook by Chris Christodoulou

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Floras-story-Chris-Christodoulou-ebook/dp/B00JWV008K

With all due respect to the Cypriot people, of which I am one, ‘Pets’ in Cyprus is not a priority. Unless an animal had a use, it was never respected as a living thing that deserved to live a life. Cats and Dogs were seen more as a nuisance, and more importantly, an extra expense. Things are getting better, but we still have a way to go before things are at an acceptable level.

I was prompted to write this short story, when a puppy Mini – Pinscher was abandoned and found its way to us.

It’s a true, heart warming story, that will appeal to all animal lovers. It’s ideal bedtime reading for your kids, but will also adults will find it entertaining and interesting.

Read this short story about ‘Flora’ and how she found her forever home.

"The core essence of this story is what I want as a reader without all the fluff. Being a science fiction/fantasy buff who loves The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Dune Series, and The Game of Thrones, I find this book to be a refreshing breath of fresh air. It is a unique and diverse realm that is seldom brought to life, similar to the aforementioned books. A quick and to the point type of book, specific to the particular quest the characters are in. With the current interest in superheroes, this book leaves me with the feeling that these Angels are the original superheroes. Hands down, an AWESOME story and I look forward to the continuation of the series."

Heaven's Wars is an epic fantasy tale that readers of all walks have enjoyed from ages 13 and up. With three books in the series ready to read and more to come.

Writing is Easy, kindle ebook by Gert Loveday

Writing is Easy is for you if you love to laugh, love to read, love to write and love to eat. Marcus the egotistical best-seller author, Lester, his blackmailing secretary, Lilian the Gertrude Stein lookalike performance poet, and John, the fitness fanatic who doesn't believe in drinking fluids or in sitting down, are just some of the members of a writing workshop at a gourmet country retreat. Will Marcus succeed in killing Lester before he divulges Marcus' guilty secret? I imagine the book is funny enough on its own, said one reviewer, but anyone who has ever tried to write, or has ever taken any interest in the nuts and bolts of literature, will find it particularly delicious. Talking of delicious, I must just mention the food and drink again: I’m sure you could put on a few pounds just by reading this – you’ll see what I mean if you do so.

Miss Phoebe Hillier has been living a lie, too...

The Forever Girl - Kindle eBook by Rebecca Hamilton

http://www.amazon.com/Forever-Girl-ebook/dp/B00729GQ0A

Hello, Rebecca Hamilton here! I have some pretty awesome news to share, and it's not just about the sale. It's the reason FOR the sale. And here it is: THE FOREVER GIRL has been optioned for film!

Nothing is set in stone yet, but i'm working with some pretty awesome people already. One of them is producer Brian Witten, who has worked on such films as American History X, The Wedding Singer, Final Destination, The Chernobyl Diaries, and Friday the 13th. More recently, he was involved with filming THE CELL with John Cusack (an adaption of a Stephen King novel). He's also a fellow In This Moment fan (okay, maybe my trip to L.A. had something to do with that).

Only time will tell what Hollywood thinks of The Forever Girl: Do they dare portray witches in a good light, a la Charmed, or are we doomed to the villainizing of witches? Will The Forever Girl pull them under its spell? What about you?

I hope you'll take a look. And if you like what you read, there's more coming soon. Just join the mailing list to be notified of future releases (don't worry, I hate spam as much as you do, so my emails are only sent out to subscribed members a few times a year at most).

The Unlimited Power of NLP - kindle ebook by Matthew Braden

http://www.amazon.com/Unlimited-Power-NLP-Achievement-Neuro-Linguistic-ebook/dp/B00HYIT5HK

NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming is an approach to personal development and psychotherapy founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970s. It has been variously described as “the structure of miracles”, “a paradigm shift in psychology” and “the art of communication excellence”, descriptions which show how effective it is. Thanks to the numerous seminars and books by the founders over the past 30 years, it has spread throughout the world. Today, NLP is being widely used not only in psychotherapy but also in the fields of education, business, law and health. However, as Richard Bandler mentions in his book “Trance-Formations – NLP and the Structure of Hypnosis”, NLP is not confined to a specific area. Instead, it can be used successfully in any field of life, since it doesn’t just teach you how to handle specific situations; rather, it challenges and totally changes your world view! This book will introduce you to NLP: what it is, how it originated and how it can help you change your life and achieve your goals. It will challenge your established concepts and will force you to rethink what you’ve taken for granted throughout your life. This book is, thus, an attempt to make the power of NLP available to everyone. Whether you’ve got the above-mentioned goals in your mind or you simply want to find out what NLP is all about, this book is perfect for you. If the book manages to better the life of even a single person, I’ll consider it to be a very successful book.

Spring Moon - Kindle eBook by Mary Ellen Courtney

From The Author of the Award Winning "Wild Nights"

It's not easy to juggle marriage, children, and the past, when the past just won't go away.

The reality of marriage was not what Hannah Spring had in mind when she blithely swapped rings with her husband, a man who was divorced so many years earlier that Hannah's only thought about his ex-wife was that she was annoyingly beautiful. But, she lived far far away, as did Hannah's former lover from a still perplexing, and never discussed, liaison.

Then things change for her husband's ex and his past crashes over their seawall and boils through the safe harbor of their present. It had never occurred to Hannah that his ex-wife could rip the Band-Aid off her history, much less endanger her life and limb.

Getting married takes a few minutes. Being married takes all the other minutes. "Spring Moon" is a humorous and poignant year of other minutes, in complicated times.

"Wild Nights," Mary Ellen Courtney's debut novel, won the 2013 Indie Excellence Award for Fiction & The Silver Medal 2013 Global eBook Award for Fiction

Her sweetest downfall by Rebecca Hamilton

Hello! I am author Rebecca Hamilton, and my sanity is questionable. Perhaps that is how I began writing: with grand delusions of how easy it would be to write a book. I spent years on my first novel, The Forever Girl, which has had a pretty good reception so far. I even landed an agent! Oh, happy days. But what comes next? Well, it was time to write more books, and I know how very slow I am at such endeavors. That is how HER SWEETEST DOWNFALL came about. I decided a short novella would be much easier to write, and something that I could offer my readers while they awaited my next book. Or maybe it would just be a way for people who haven't read my work to get a chance to check out my writing. Then they could see if they liked my writing or just think I'm a loser, without wasting $2.99 on an ebook. Well, cue round two of delusions, because novellas aren't easy to write, either. I did, however, learn a lot in the process, and I had fun writing the book. Now I hope others might have some reading it, perhaps lose themselves for a few hours in this light, paranormal romance read. If you're looking for something quick to pass the time, give Her Sweetest Downfall a glance.

Blurb:
Ophelia's been successful at hiding her true identity, until the mark of the serpent appears on her neck—a death sentence, should it be seen by anyone in her town. Hiding the mark might save her from falling victim to the witch hunts of her era, but the scorching sensation it carries can't be ignored.

When the mysterious Ethan is sent to collect her for a life of something more, she learns concealing the mark is the least of her worries. She's destined to don a new mask—to join a dark, supernatural world and protect the future of people she may never meet.

What she doesn't know—what she learns too late—is that her initiation won't be complete until she kills the man she loves.

Set in an alternate Regency England, "Her Sweetest Downfall" is a standalone novella in the "Forever Girl" series. The novella of around 30,000 words, written as a gift to fans of the Forever Girl series.

HER SWEETEST DOWNFALL will appeal to lovers of paranormal romance, fantasy, and vampire fiction.

Thank you for this opportunity!

Lovers In The Woods - a Science Fiction novel by Helen Alexander

She dreamed of a great city. It was a city she had never seen before, a city from the future. Nina would walk its streets, which were full of the strangest people she had ever seen. Some of them were not really people, even. There were things with extra arms, and eyes, and legs, insect-like things and bird-like things, but they all wore clothes and could talk intelligently. A Birdman called her over softly on one street corner and took her by the arm. He had bright red eyes, like those of an albino rat, and in his beak was an unlit cigarette. Nina was scared of him. "Please come with me," the Birdman said, and they began to walk away down the street, hand in hand.

Shiner - Kindle ebook by Andrew Conlon

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JTYH1N2

Andrew Conlon is a writer of drama, horror, and suspense fiction. SHINER is his first novel.

On writing SHINER, Andrew says:

"While I was growing up, I lived in what I still believe was an extremely haunted house. Frightened and fascinated by my experiences, I sought answers, and by the time I was a teenager, I had read hundreds of tales about paranormal phenomena. My interest in the paranormal, supernatural, and strange has continued throughout my life and I have often been a confidant of friends and family who know that I believe the paranormal actually occurs in the "normal" world, so some people have entrusted me with their most secret, scariest stories, which has vastly influenced my work as a writer of paranormal fiction.

Then, in 2010, I moved into the same neighborhood as the haunted house of my youth. While living once more in my childhood stomping grounds, I investigated the local history and places - which include a number of spooky cemeteries, Native American burial grounds, a seemingly haunted forest, and other odd features - and found that I wasn't the only one who'd experienced paranormal phenomena in area. Almost everyone had a scary story to tell.

Drawing from my experiences and all of the ghost stories I have collected over the years, I was inspired to write my debut novel, SHINER, a paranormal thriller about a teenage boy who must learn to fight the evil in his haunted house."

Wolver's Gold - ebook by Jacqueline Rhoades

Amazon Link: http://www.amazon.com/Wolvers-Gold-Jacqueline-Rhoades-ebook/dp/B00KFRZ63O

Like Jane Eyre, Rachel Kincaid has two beings inside of her. One is the socially correct and proper lady she was raised to be. The other is strong, capable and opinionated. The only difference in Rachel’s case is that the opinionated one is a wolf; so opinionated Rachel has shut the animal down and sent it to sleep for fifteen years. It was the only way Rachel could function in the Old West Town run by her pack as a tourist attraction. The Victorian life they show to the tourists doesn’t end with the closing of the gates.

Being a wolver, part human, part wolf, Rachel needs the security and support of a pack, but what happens when that security and support is no longer there? What happens when the Alpha, the leader of the pack, no longer provides the ties that bind the members together as a family? What happens when the pack hierarchy of dominance becomes so extreme, half the pack has become second class with no rights at all?

Rachel knows she’s unhappy, but sees little that can be done until a new sheriff arrives in Gold Gulch. Suddenly, her wolf is awake and demanding freedom. But freedom comes at a price and the cost for Rachel may be the love of her life.

Challenger McCall is a ‘fixer’, and his job is to prevent the discovery of the wolver species by the outside, human world. His job exposes him to the worst of wolver behavior, and while he’s good at what he does, he never gets to enjoy the benefits of what he leaves behind. Living his life as a lone wolf isn’t the adventure it once was. It’s wearing him down, but like Rachel, his sense of duty and loyalty to his kind prevents him from seeing a future that holds anything different.

Even after meeting the feisty redhead who runs the hotel and makes his wolf act like a pup, McCall knows he can’t stay in Gold Gulch. Pack comes first.

Together, along with other members of the pack, Rachel and McCall, embark on a journey to right the wrongs of Gold Gulch, but what they are doing amounts to treason and the price of treason is death.

My Journey To Hell - kindle book by John D. Ottini

I’ve always been fascinated by ordinary people behaving badly.

Why do perfectly rational people, who know the difference between right and wrong, still choose the wrong path? The main character in my novelette Joel Simon is a prime example of what I’m talking about. Joel is a man who has survived a destructive marriage, personal addictions and a less than stellar relationship with his mother and is finally headed in the right direction. He has a good job, nice home and what most would consider a bright future ahead of him.  In the midst of the quiet calm, there is a storm brewing with the potential to derail Joel in his tracks.

A fast paced combination of mystery and suspense, but also a study in the frailty of the human mind as the center of thought and behavior. How will Joel respond to changes in his environment, which may be beyond his control?  Is he the instigator or the victim?

Read my novelette to find out the answer to this and other questions.

What We Leave Behind - a story about love, kindle ebook by Matthew Alan

http://www.amazon.com/What-Leave-Behind-Matthew-Alan-ebook/dp/B00JIUQXYA

Kindle format 99 cent sale....June 13-16, 2014   www.facebook.com/matthewalan412

What We Leave Behind - A story about struggle, a story of hope, and mostly, a story about love. A journey with a unique young girl who is so sure of what is out there waiting for her, that she never compromises her belief in finding it. Jane Rawley Solomon's humor, character, and passion for others, serve as a reminder that we choose our own path to happiness, regardless of the events that impact our lives.

I started writing this novel in 2009, after losing my remarkable dog, Rawley, to a bone tumor in a very emotional process. As the next year continued, my other canine companion of twelve years, Max, passed away from liver cancer. In that same period, a very dear coaching colleague - far too young to deal with her medical issues – passed away from cancer. Not to be a bearer of grief, as we all deal with these events in our lives, but from 2008-2012, I watched as my father battled pancreatic cancer, fighting with amazing resolve.

Though the characters are fictional, most of the story is based on true events, different elements happening to different individuals. Amidst so much loss and pain, it was easy to write the sad parts of this book. The trick was keeping the hope, the love, the fight, and the joy - that they all managed to hold onto - represented in my heroine, Jane.
Despite numerous challenges, I knew I wanted to push through and finish this work when a former teammate from college lost her struggle with cancer earlier this winter. This book’s dedication is for those people who struggle with illness and pain, and yet never lose their optimism or their love for others. I hope I do them - and through them, all of you - justice.

Fifty percent of the author's profits from the book sales of 'What We Leave Behind', will be split, and donated to the Ronald McDonald House charities (rmhc.org) and the ASPCA (aspca.org). In the names of my father - Will, Shelly and Lauren.

The reason I'm choosing these two charities are manifold, but knowing the individuals as I did, and understanding the benefits these charities provide for those in need, it makes perfect sense.

Anyone who appreciates the healing power of animals, will understand the ASPCA . And if the circumstances happen when long term care of a loved one is necessary - then you understand the financial burden incurred by traveling during these times. The support of family and friends becomes immeasurable during difficult times - and these amazing charities represent the ideals of the individuals this book is hoping to honor.
